The Royal Musical Association is now recruiting new members for its Student Committee.
The Royal Musical Association is the largest and oldest learned society for music in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for you to become a member of the RMA Student Committee where you will have a personal hand in shaping RMA’s student activities as the RMA continues to prioritise and expand the benefits to its student members.
The Student Committee liaises between the RMA and the wider student body. During your two-year service, you will act as a voice for RMA’s student members and take active roles in organising and promoting student-relative activities. There are three posts available this year: one Student Representative and two ‘Ordinary’ Members. Please see this document for details of these positions.
If you would like to put yourself forward, please email Dr Katy Hamilton, Membership Development Officer <firstname.lastname@example.org> by 17:00 on THURSDAY 22 DECEMBER 2016. A hustings will take place on the first day of the conference where you will be expected to give a 5-minute presentation to promote your candidacy. You must be an RMA member to run for election. Successful candidates will be expected to attend the RMA Student Committee meeting on the final day of the conference. Please include your name, contact email address, affiliation, and a short explanation of why you consider yourself a suitable candidate. You are also encouraged to submit a 1-minute video, but this is not obligatory.
