RSAMD, Glasgow

On 10 February 2007, a joint RMA/BASEES study day was held at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow on the subject of Russian and East European Music. The event was hosted by the Academy’s research department and was convened by Christina Guillaumier. The guest speaker of the day was Professor David Fanning (University of Manchester) who delivered a well-attended lecture entitled “In the Orbit of Shostakovich: Weinberg’s String Quartets”.

Graduate students, two of whom came specifically for this Study Day from overseas, delivered papers and lecture-recitals on a variety of topics in keeping with the theme of the event.
