Early Career Paths in Musicology Across Europe: Round-table discussion about grant schemes with and for ECRs

The Network for European Musicological Societies (NEMS) is pleased to announce a round-table discussion with and for ECRs about career opportunities in Europe. This first session will focus on opportunities for postdoctoral research project funding across various institutions in Europe. We have invited scholars who have forged their early careers by applying to different national and international grant schemes:

  • Marie Louise Herzfeld-Schild (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien)
  • Anna Papaeti (University of Cyprus), and
  • Lola San Martín Arbide (EHESS, École des hautes études en sciences sociales).

They will briefly present how they went about applying to various grants and then we will open the floor for questions and discussions among all participants.

We will meet on Zoom on Friday 12 April 2024 at 4:00pm CET (3:00pm GMT). Everyone interested in learning more about experiences in applying to postdoctoral grant schemes is welcome, whether or not you identify as an ECR.

NEMS mission is to forge connections between different institutions, societies and researchers across Europe involved in the study of music. In particular, it aims to be a resource for researchers of all stages who seek to cross borders in forging their career pathsin Europe.

The main language of the meeting will be English. The Zoom link for the meeting can be found here.

We look forward to seeing you there!

All the best,
Annelies Andries (Utrecht University)
Núria Bonet (University of Plymouth)
Théodora Psychoyou (Sorbonne Université)
